Tailoring with Purpose – Clothes that Care

Tailoring at Joy Nursery & Primary School is more than just stitching fabric — it’s sewing compassion into every seam. Through Faithful Hands, our learners are learning how to use tailoring to help others, meet real needs, and express their faith in practical ways.

With guidance, students are creating useful items like aprons, school bags, and simple garments. They are also learning how to mend torn clothing, showing that restoration is a valuable skill — both spiritually and practically. When learners see a uniform being repaired, they understand that nothing is too broken for God to restore.

One of our proudest moments was when the tailoring team sewed colorful aprons for the school’s young kitchen helpers. These small efforts showed them that their work matters and gave younger learners a sense of pride and joy.

Scripture Reflection:

“She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.” – Proverbs 31:24
This verse reminds us that skill with our hands can be a source of dignity, generosity, and purpose.

Christian Value Highlighted: Dignity in Work, Restoration, Responsibility

Problem Solved: Many learners see tailoring as a domestic chore. Faithful Hands helps them realize that tailoring is a creative, problem-solving, and impactful ministry.
